Off to jail for "good!"

Dan and I are going to jail today for "good." We're being sent to jail to raise money and awareness for MDA (aka Jerry's Kids). Our bail is set at $1200 and if we reach that DAN WILL SHAVE HIS HEAD!

If we can surpass our goal and make it to $4000, I WILL SHAVE MY HEAD! We could use any little bit of help here. We're a long ways off from our goal and we don't want to let the MDA down. It's 100% tax deductible so not only will it make you feel good, but you'll also get it all back in April of 2010!

Miller's National Child and Baby Contest 2009.

We're still in it, the National Child and Baby Contest, that is. Today we were informed that our Special Needs entry was selected for the final round. We are so excited! We absolutely love working with Special Needs Children and it so exciting to have two of our portraits selected from this category. We won't know the results for another month or so, but we'll certainly keep you filled in as soon as we find out.

Keep your fingers crossed, we'd certainly love to give some money away!

Salt Lake Tribune

A few of my pictures were submitted to the Salt Lake Tribune yesterday since they were unable to make it out to the Homes For Our Troops build site.  They chose one of my shots and published it in todays paper.  Check it out here!

Homes For Our Troops

Today Dan and I were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to volunteer for an organization called Home For Our Troops.  I was contacted by the organization several months ago and asked to donate time and photography.  The organization is dedicated to providing homes to severely wounded veterans.

Bryant Jacobs, a 28-year-old veteran from Herriman, UT was wounded by a road-side bomb.  After 37 surgeries, he's up and walking, although not without much hardship.  He is also missing his large intestine, which makes daily activities very challenging.

Today, Homes For Our Troops raised the walls to his new home.  Located against the base of the Oquirrh Mountains, it has an amazing view, but not only that, it has special adjustments meant to make living easier for Jacobs.
